My Bags are Packed!

The Count Down has begun, I have 36 hours until I board my 1st of three planes to Key West to visit Shelly and Maddie on Friday. I am so excited and a little nervous to leave Kris and Lydia but I know they will do just fine.

This week has been a busy one. I turned another year older on Monday, Saturday night we (Kris and I) went out to dinner with a few good friends downtown and then we went and sang kareokee at a bar right up the street. We had a great time. Sunday Kris got a cake and we ate it with the Hickey's. For my birthday Lydia and Kris got me a cake decorating class. It is in March for four nights two hours a night. I am so excited. Thank you to everyone who sent cards, called and emails.

Yesterday was a big day in our house. We bought panties, and no not for me either. Lydia picked out her first panties, she picked Minnie Mouse and Dora. We came home, washed them and wanted to get right down to it so we did. She did really well, she would start to pee in her panties and then tell me and stop, and sit on the potty and finish. I told her we would start next week when Mommy got back from visiting Shelly. (Kris doesn't want to go there with her, cop out)

I have been working almost everyday but Sunday for a few hours so the house work is falling to the way side (I dont' even remember how I did it when I worked full time) and the crafting has come to an end-boo hoo.

I have a Lydia story for you:
So we were on our way to work this morning and Lydia told me she wanted a little brother and I said, oh that would be nice. Then she asked me if we could go to the store and pick one out. I thought, only if it was that easy!

The next time you hear from me, hopefully I have seen the sun for a few days and have a new outlook on the terrible two's! (or are they the almost terrible three's?)

The new paint-what do you think?

What Dad's Teach their Daughters

This is what Lydia now says when you tell her to stand up after bath time to get her out. It just cracks me up. We have been sick, working and doing a little house work. I have painted the living room again, from green to light blue-yuck and now I am on a medium blue. If I decide to keep it I will post the photos, but I am not sold on the color yet, only if our wood work was white and not some fancy color.

Fiesta Time

We had a blast in Scottsdale. The sun was out and it was about 70 degree's everyday. I can actually say I don't even think I missed Lydia that much because we were so busy and always on the go. It also helped that she was in great hands and always happy when we called.

We arrived on Saturday the 2nd and hit the streets right away. We went shopping in Olde Town Scottsdale and then back to the hotel to get refreshed and changed for the Live Radio Show held at the Fox Sports Grill. It was packed and we had a good time. Kris's work helped put on the event along with the Alumni Association so I was put to work right away handing out raffle tickets but had a great time doing so. Sunday we/or the BAA held a pep rally at Tempe Beach Park and the turn out was incredible, I think about 10,000 people showed up. That evening we dined at a nice restaurant at the resort we stayed at and called it an early night.

Monday was the big day, we started the day off at a Presidential Breakfast (we sat next to Barbara Morgan, the astronaut and some other rich people) then we loaded a bus with about 40 other Athletic Staff members and some nice donors to place 20,000 (yes you read it right) 20,000 orange pom poms on the seats inside the stadium. I thought this task would have been terrible but we did it in about 1.5 hours and after wards we went to Margaretta ville and hung out before the tailgating began, and did it begin.

The game was a blast the win was even better. The return home was great to have the hug and kisses but I will pay for leaving her for a few days until I have to leave her again to head to Key West to visit Shelly at the end of the month, but at least she will have her hero Dad with her.

Off to do laundry and scrub the toilets! (sounds fun doesn't it)

Happy 2010

Wow where did the last two weeks go. They have just flown by. Kris and I are headed out in the morning to Scotsdale, Az for the Fiesta Bowl for his work. Mom and Dad will be watching Lydia for us here in Boise. They have been here for two weeks and we have enjoyed having them and I think they have enjoyed being here.

Christmas was a BLAST. Lydia had way too many gifts but it was so fun to watch her go from one to the next all day long. She was so excited with every single one. Christmas Eve we were sitting in our living room and we heard jingle bells, and after a few moments I decided it was from out front so I opened the front door and who else would I see but Santa walking down the street with a jingle bell and a bag of candy canes. Lydia was SOOO excited and so was I. We have no idea who it was but it sure made Christmas Eve more exciting. Santa treated me well and I felt very blessed to receive such nice gifts this year. I treated myself to a new set of tires for my car. That purchase was a big one that doesn't give much satisfaction but is necessary. Kris's car is next in March for a new set of wheels. We always said we would drive our cars until the tires feel off and we are gong to try to keep that from happening.

I have been working a little here and there and will be working 4 days a week come Jan. The paycheck will be nice so I won't complain.

Well I don't have my stuff in a suitcase yet and we must leave the house at 5am to be at BSU to get on the bus for the airport and fly out by 7:30. So I must get to bed.

We wish you all a HAPPY NEW YEAR, may you be blessed with happiness and health and lots of love!

It's beginning to feel a lot like Christmas!

We have been enjoying all the activities that come with the month of December. Playing in the first snow fall of the year, doing Christmas themed crafts, baking, attending Christmas parties, reading Christmas books, going to see Santa and getting into trouble in mom's make-up.

We had a really nice Thanksgiving, as I have told many of you "it took me 5 hours to cook it, one minute for Lydia to decide she wasn't going to eat it, and 2 minutes for Kris to devour it"

After dinner was over and cleaned up we headed out to the "Festival of Trees". It is a display in our convention center of aobut 100 different trees and then wreaths. Lydia actually saw Santa and sat next to him and told him Hi, but that was about it. He asked if she wanted a doll and she said yes.

Friday, I awoke early and went out for my 2nd time ever of Black Friday shopping. I went with Jackie and we hit target at 5am and JoAnne's at 6am. I got what I was after, The Cricut, I love it so far-thanks Mom and Dad for the early gift! We had fun but I was so super tired after it was all said and done. That day Kris worked most the afternoon and until 1am for the football game, good news there BSU won and it looks like they should be going to a BIG bowl game. I hope they are kind to spouse's this year and take me with them, but then we have to find child care for the munchkin.

Saturday must have been a blur because all I remember is going to the Christmas parade in downtown and then Sunday we put up the tree and other decorations. Lydia was SO delighted to see all the pretty things and she did a great job helping us hang the ornaments. This Christmas should be a great one, I am so excited to share it with her as the lights make her light up and smile.

She has also found a new love for the Moon. Every night we have to find the Moon and say hi. It is so dang cute!

Well the little monster is awake from her nap and I have to get ready for work.

Hope you all had a wonderful holiday!
